    About Campaign Lab

    Campaign Lab is a community of politically-minded progressive data scientists, researchers and campaigners who are working together to improve the way we analyse and understand campaigning. By working as part of a small dynamic team you’ll be helping to improve campaigning across the progressive ecosystem!

    The basics 

    Location: London/Remote and home working options (expected to work in London at least 8 days per month)
    Contract: Until January 2025
    Hours: Full time with some evening and weekend work
    Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 pro rata

    What the role involves 

    In this role, you’ll manage and deliver a programme of testing and research focused on campaign innovation from testing methods to engage hard to reach audiences to exploring how generative AI might be used in campaigning.

    Main Duties & Responsibilities

    • Work with the Director and a variety of stakeholders to design and oversee a comprehensive programme of testing and research to innovate campaign strategies.
    • Manage the entire research process, from conceptualising tests to analysing results and compiling comprehensive reports.
    • Collaborate closely with the Director and other key stakeholders to identify and prioritise testing opportunities.
    • Engage with diverse campaigns, persuading them to participate in tests and research studies.
    • Oversee the logistical aspects of research and testing, including scheduling and resource allocation.
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth execution of tests and research activities.
    • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the effectiveness and impact of Campaign Lab's research initiatives.
    • Ensure that all research activities comply with relevant laws, ethical standards, and organisational policies.

    Key Skills and Qualities  

    If you don’t have all the experience and skills listed below, please still consider applying. We don’t expect a candidate to have 100% of these, but we do want to know that you have relevant experience and an appetite to learn in other areas.

    • Exceptional Organisational Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple moving parts, maintaining high standards of organisation and attention to detail. Ideally with some team leadership experience.
    • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Capable of identifying challenges and proactively seeking effective solutions.
    • Effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Skilled in building and nurturing relationships with stakeholders, team members, and external partners.
    • Adaptability and Resilience: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Able to adapt strategies and approaches as needed.
    • Research and Technical Expertise: Some direct experience of academic research methods at an undergrad or postgrad level, a solid understanding of experimental research methodologies and experience in managing research projects.
    • Innovative Thinking: Ability to think creatively, encouraging innovation and new approaches and strategies in campaigning.
    • Commitment to Progressive Values: A passion for progressive causes and an understanding of the political landscape.
    • Self-Motivation and Goal Orientation: Ability to work autonomously while keeping aligned with the team's objectives and organisational goals.
    • Technological Proficiency: Comfortable using various project management and data analysis tools.
