    About Campaign Lab

    Campaign Lab is a community of politically-minded progressive data scientists, researchers and campaigners who are working together to improve the way we analyse and understand campaigning. By working as part of a small dynamic team you’ll be helping to improve campaigning across the progressive ecosystem!

    The basics 

    Location: London/Remote and home working options (expected to work in London at least 10 days per month)
    Contract: 1 Year
    Hours: 35 hours per week with some evening and weekend work
    Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 pro rata

    What the role involves 

    In this role, you’ll plan and deliver effective and impactful communications and events, with a focus on building and growing a network. The main responsibilities of this post holder will be engaging our expert volunteer community with projects and running successful Hack Day events.

    Main Duties & Responsibilities

    • Help to plan, organise and publicise our hack day events, 2 hacknights and 1 hack day per month.
    • Work with the Director to identify well scoped out projects for our volunteers
    • Recruit and onboard more volunteers to our community
    • Monitor project progress and keep documentation up to date
    • Develop relationships with our key community contributors by actively participating in our volunteer groups and forums.
    • Collect feedback from volunteers involved in our projects and support Campaign Lab to implement improvements to our processes.
    • Respond to prospective and current volunteer queries
    • Develop content for Campaign Lab’s social media platforms and website, proactively producing content to keep our core community engaged.
    • Plan, design and implement a social media plan to raise the profile of our work around campaign innovation.
    • Be responsible for the maintenance of our online resources.

    Key Skills and Qualities  

    If you don’t have all the experience and skills listed below, please still consider applying. We don’t expect a candidate to have 100% of these, but we do want to know that you have relevant experience and an appetite to learn in other areas.

    • You have excellent project management skills, and are comfortable managing competing priorities, including multiple projects.
    • You enjoy organising fast-paced, energetic events. You have experience organising and coordinating various types of events (e.g. meet-ups, conferences, or corporate functions), and are adept at logistics, venue management, and ensuring the smooth execution of events
    • You have experience working with, supporting, or managing volunteers, and/or volunteering yourself, and you enjoy making volunteers feel valued and supported.
    • You like wearing many hats: You thrive in an environment where every day is a bit different, and you can successfully juggle multiple workstreams. You are flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances and can find creative solutions when faced with unexpected challenges.
    • You like working autonomously and are self-directed and goal-oriented.
    • You are a people person. Approachable and friendly, you enjoy building productive relationships with diverse people from different backgrounds and experiences.
    • You are a great communicator, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong active listening skills.
    • You are a collaborative team player.

    What we offer

    • Agile working: This means you will have the flexibility to work in different locations including from home up to 3 days a week and from a co-working space).
    • Flexible Working: our Flexible Working Policy allows requests to work flexibly from the start of your employment, though some weeks will require evening and some weekend work.
